"Tit-4-tat" - Who will be the next James Brown?

Who will be the next James Brown?
Illinois Department of Corrections photo
(Rogers Park) - In the game of "tit-4-tat" - the ball is now in the "Howard LOC's" court.

You boys called the "Farwell Gang," better watch your back. And front. And side.

You maybe even want hire a bodyguard; or two.

Here's how I score it.

April 5, 2012: Convicted child shooter, James Brown, got gunned down in broad daylight in the 6800 block of North Ashland.  No questions asked. Shot point plank. On the street, in the 6800 block of North Ashland.

The ruthless shooter - shot his 9 mm pistol from a moving silver, 4 door Pontiac Grand Prix - with tinted windows and Indiana Plates.

That one moment killed James Brown. It happened in a blink of an eye. He arrived at the hospital, some 30 minutes later, in Evanson Illinois, "DOA," as they say in the police reports.

That's Dead on Arrivial for those not in the know.

That's what the police say. You can FOIA the information, if you care. Second City Cop thinks it may be street justice.

April 7, 2012: two people got shot near Howard and Sheridan. One in the back. We're told by the powers-that-be, this is gang related. Yet, much of this shooting remains unknown.

If history serves us correctly, the next round of gun-play is back in CAPS Beat 2431 area.

Clues are already showing up. Graffiti blasts on Farwell & Glenwood; and Farwell & Greenview.

More clues. Known P-Stone gang members, most likely recruited from the south-side by the Howard LOC's, hanging around the hood at Wayne and Morse. Today, the police were all over them. But tomorrow, the next day, maybe not?

Neighbors in this area of CAPS Beat 2431 - watch you back. And front. And side. Go ahead and splurge for that Kevlar vest.

You may even want to hire a bodyguard; or two.

It's not even summer. Wait until the weather really heats up. Just ask any of the street-wise police officer, that works your Rogers Park beat. The gun-play in Rogers Park has just begun.

If they tell you differently, they'd be totally disingenuous with their statement. We have a gang war going on in Rogers Park.

Who's going to be the next James Brown?

Yes I saw all the cops there today Craig. Nice show of force by the cops. It was a swarm!!!

What are the gangs fighting over?
Less and Less and Less. This is a neighborhood not some prize that can be fought over and won. Its ludicrous that they are still having a gangwar here.

This guy who was just killed didnt even live here. Its so silly. The gangmembers are fighting over and dying over area that they dont even live at.

This was obvious a paid for killing, probably arranged by the family of the child that was shot in 2009.
I presume the killers were from out of town & the car was probably stolen.
Brown improved Chicago when he died!

Well I will agree with you Clark st that it was extremely foolish for this guy to return to the same area where he himself had shot a 9 year old. Thats just common sense. He shouldve moved far away to another city and tried to put his life into a new direction. Returning that soon to the scene of his crime was just asking for trouble.

The family of the boy shot are our neighbors. I am sure they had nothing to do with James Brown's demise. They are a hard working decent family. I suspect James pissed off the wrong gang fraction.
