Historic Indian Boundary field house on fire

(West Ridge) - Around noon on May 20, 2012 the historic field house located in Indian Boundary Park, at 2500 West Lunt, caught fire. Over 20 firetrucks are on scene. One firefighter was seen being taken away on a stretcher to an ambulance.


Neighbors gathered on the other side of the street and in the park watching the firefighters fight the stubborn blaze on the second floor.

At 1:20 PM, the tudor style roof was still shooting flames. No word on the cause of the fire.

Update - 2:15 PM: Traffic is now opening up on Western. Some firetrucks are now packing up and leaving the scene. Hazmat unit has been called to the field house. Two firefighers were taken to St. Francis with heat related issues.

Update - 2:35 PM: One firefighter was taken to Illinois Masonic with a shoulder injury.
