Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce President Bill Morton, holding an illegal bonfire on the shores of Lake Michigan photo courtesy google images |
Check this recent tidbit out.
Bill Morton said... "Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce's first annual Taste of Rogers Park ... Joe requested 10% of proceeds for his support..."
Wow. Did Bill Morton, the President of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce, just accuse someone named "Joe" of wanting a bribe for support of a project he has on his agenda?
49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore thought so.
Alderman Joe Moore responded... "@Bill Morton, Would you like to share with me and EveryBlock's readers your evidentiary support for your accusation? Perhaps you also would like to share your evidence with the City's Inspector General or, better yet, the U.S. Attorney's office. Because what you're accusing me of is a crime....
This is not the first time you've used the Internet to accuse me of criminal activity."
BLOGNOTES: There's more accusations and babble, but most of it's all hearsay. And, I'm not going to link the Everyblock gossip, because it's just that. Gossip. That's what Everyblock has turned into lately.
Bill Morton could've actually produced physical evidence to support this public criminal complaint of bribery against a sitting member of Chicago City Council. He's got all the camera equipment. I wouldn't be surprised Morton has those fancy spy camera glasses.
I'm with "Joe" on this. Unless Bill Morton can come up with solid proof "Joe" asked for a bribe to support a event Bill Morton is putting on, Mr. Morton owes Alderman "Joe" Moore a big fat public apology.Bill Morton could've actually produced physical evidence to support this public criminal complaint of bribery against a sitting member of Chicago City Council. If I were "Joe," I'd sue Morton and Everyblock for allowing such bullshit to be posted without proof.

EB is a great place if you're full of negativity, gossip, accusations w/out hard evidence, and like to hear the tapping of your own keyboard!
@Black Pug: Those are the plus sides of the EB website.
Me thinks most Everyblock members and commenters are in need of seeing a new doctor, who can prescribe the right medication - and dosage.
Just leaving a comment on the latest post, not related to post
I got two of those door to door "energy salesman" hauled off by the popo tonight, and god, it was satisfying. Next time don't trespass in my building, and find a better "job"!!
Helen, a resident of North of Howard for 50 + years, and an multi-daily Everyblock loony commenter said, "I cleaned out my medicine cabinet last year and got rid of what I was no longer taking. .."
Bill Savage has yet to comment. But we're sure he'll add his two cents worth of looniness.
After all, Bill Savage has left more worthless comments on Everyblock than I wiped my ass with toilet paper the last 51 years.
That freak must wake up and go to sleep on EB.
Craig, I think you misread my wording on this conversation thread. No where did I use the word bribe. I specifically said the word "requested". You are welcome to post my exact wording on this topic and explain to me how I committed libel, defamation of character, or in other charge you think applicable. Joe Moore made the request of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce. It was the right of the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce Board Members to refuse the request.
Furthermore, the bonfire photo was taken legally on the Sherwin on the Lake private beach.
This blog post was inaccurate on both assumptions and I request that you either edit your inaccuracies or remove the post completely and provide an apology for the actual defamation of my character and an upstanding organization in the community, or I will consider pressing charges.
My exact comment was:
"The three permit fee waivers in the 49th Ward go to the Glenwood Arts Festival (Al Goldberg), the Clark Street Festival (Rogers Park Business Alliance) and the Glenwood Sunday Market (Rogers Park Business Alliance/Joe Moore's Green Corps).
As for the Rogers Park Chamber of Commerce's first annual Taste of Rogers Park ... Joe requested 10% of proceeds for his support".

I find it interesting that you did not contact the people involved in this issue and instead made accusations of your own. Instead, you chose to commit your own crimes of defamation of character, cyber bullying, and harassment.
Mr. Morton has always spoken so highly of you, Gay Chicago, and the Broken Heart of Rogers Park, refusing to say anything negative even though you betrayed your beliefs and yourself by switching teams to support Joe Moore.
How low you've come to attack someone who has always wished you luck and hoped you'd be who you are instead of a follower of something that appears to be corrupt and destructive to our neighborhood.
I posted this entire disaster of Rogers Park in 1000 words. http://www.rogerspark1000.com/
I support those who truly wish for the best for this area. I had hoped, like Bill, that you would see what you've become and become the person he admired so much and loved to work with.
obviously, his wish and good will for you are wasted. He did not like what I posted but doesn't have the heart to fight me because you betrayed someone who always called you a friend.
congratulations.
