Gang Shrine for Anthony Scott grows at Devon and Oakley

(West Ridge) - With all the love being spread on these gang shrine signs posted on the wall above the teddy bear, candles and flowers, you have to ask yourself....

Why would anyone want to murder Anthony "Harlem" Scott?

For those who thirst for a neighborhood bike ride or stroll today, this gang shrine is located on the south east wall on Oakley, by Devon.

Better get there early thou, as in the night they're harder to read and there could be a possibility you'll get shot and killed, like Anthony Scott did on March 16, 2012.

This gang shrine is located in Alderman Debra Silverstein's 50th Ward.

Clearly, as long as these messages have been erected, Ald. Silverstein must approve this gang shrine?

While I know most of you won't make it to this ever-growing gang shrine, I'll bring it into your living room today, for you to enjoy.

The cops removed a shrine at that location a couple of days ago. They were worried about the potential violence it might attract.

Hi CNR: This must be a new one from the one taken down on Friday. I took these photos myself yesterday (3/24/12) around 1:30 p.m.

I don't appreciate your blog post, Anthony "Harlem" Scott was my son! People called him Harlem because he always talked about visiting Harlem, New York. Did you know he wanted to go to the Navy? I guess that would have made him a gang member for the good old U.S.A. That so called gang shrine was initiated by Cease Fire, which held a vigil for my son...I really don't have to explain anything to you but I have some advice: out of respect for my family you can keep all of your negativity to yourself.

P.S., those posters and candles HAVE BEEN THERE SINCE the vigil, and I expect an apology from the author for discrediting my sons character. What others have posted on the posters had nothing to do with his family and true friends. If this apology is not received I will take action. We are mourning a great loss! Anthony had younger brothers and sisters and if they happen to browse the internet and happen upon this post I will not be happy!

This is really petty . Tony was loved by a lot of people including me. Just because we called him Harlem doesn't mean he was in a gang. Yes his mom deserve an apology. And this should be taking off the internet. Its just not right for someone yo write something like this about him and doesn't even know him.
